"Patrick — or Patricia… or Pattycake, depending on the day’s vibe — is equal parts princess and powerhouse. Sure, his skin and feelings are very sensitive, but he’s been an absolute joy to bring along and is hands-down one of the bravest horses I’ve ever met. Since he was four, he’s been the type you can trail ride solo, hop on bareback, or aim at the spookiest jump in the ring and trust he’ll get you to the other side without blinking.

His first horse show was WEC Ocala in January 2024 as a fresh 5-year-old, and he strutted in like he owned the place—marching around and placing in classes with 30+ horses as if he’d been showing for years.  And yes, he gives RBF ears over 98% of jumps. But he’s such a “yes man” that we let it slide. Everyone at Spring Mill swears he’s just concentrating very hard… hence no time to also look cute. He also had zero interest in putting his ears forward during his photo session and made us all look absolutely ridiculous—shaking pom poms, squeaking dog toys, and tossing things in the air just to get a few precious seconds of ear-forward photo magic."   ~Sarah Henning
