"When Soldier came into my life four years ago he had the experience and coordination of a feral moose, but my mother, my trainer, and I all agreed that there was something special about him. Despite his mooselike behavior, there was always a certain charm about him that carried over into the ring.  We threw challenge after challenge into his path and he met each one with an unwavering can-do attitude, no matter how many jumps I crashed him into. At some point along the way I blinked and my uncoordinated moose became a top rate show horse with many blue ribbons, tri-colors, and even a Horse of the year tittle to his name. Soldier's handsome face, golden retriever like personality, and rather unfortunate tail have made him a well known figure across multiple state lines and horse show facilities. To soldier, there's no such thing as a stranger as long as you approach with a treat in hand or are scratch to be offered. It's been an honor to be part of his journey, and I'm excited to be apart of it for the rest of his life. Happy four years, Soldier!" ~ Lainey Butler
